Augmented Reality – The Future for imageHOLDERS and “IH Create”…?

imageHOLDERS have always embraced the latest technology, and as such iPads are playing a big part in our current operations.  We are using them on a day to day basis in the office, and of course using our high quality aluminium modular system to build lots of iPad and iPad2 compatible stands (not to mention all the other tablets on the market).

Our “IH Create” software system enables us to receive custom design enquiries from clients, and present back to them a realistic 3D render so they can see what the kit looks like, with their own branding in there if supplied.

This technology itself is not new, but with a little imagination you can imagine a not too distant future where our clients use an “IH Create AR” app to select from our existing range of over 1,500 kits, or even spec up a custom kit to suit their exact needs.

Then they activate the Augmented Reality option to immediately project their chosen 3D models onto their surroundings.  They can then view and explore the 3D model and see exactly how it would enhance their lobby, showroom, foyer, office or shop-floor.

You could even walk around an Augmented Reality exhibition stand that you just designed on your iPad!

It brings a whole new meaning to the term “watch this space”… It could even be used to create real time 3D assembly instructions!
